Cell Group Skyping Pastor Richard in Uganda. (The cell group sang to Richard at the end)
What technology can enable, even in your own lounge room, never ceases to amaze me.
I think in a few years video chat is going to be as normal as texting.
Last night, the Nepali cell group visited our lounge to skype Pastor Richard and Margaret in Uganda.
Pastor Richard shared a word from his home in Uganda. Pastor Brett from his lounge in Nelson, New Zealand, broke it down to the interpreter who spoke to the cell in Nepali!
It was an encouraging word for the group who had to leave their homeland of Bhutan and live in refugee camps in Nepal. Pastor Richard shared how Jesus was the first Christian refugee – fleeing Israel and settling for a time in Egypt.

Equipping the Saints for the Work of the Ministry
We are so fortunate at Celebration Centre Nelson to have access to the wonderful ministries in our founding church in Christchurch. The teams in Christchurch are dedicated to making a way for people to encounter God and to be equipped to fulfill the great commission God has given each one of His people.
In July our women will be attending Fragrance Women’s Conference. It will be a time of impartation, edification and equipping. It’s always a wonderful time heading down to Christchurch together as women, jacking up babysitters, getting time off work and having an awesome time in God together. We always come back refreshed and ready to go!
We’ve just got to acknowledge the teams in Christchurch who organise this platform for God to minister and THANK YOU SO MUCH for your time, work and prayers.

Pastor Richard not only shared the Word of God with us recently, he shared the Word of the Lord for Celebration Centre Nelson. The message is available under the “Great Preachin” tab above.
Richards message was timely and paved the way for another round of great preaching and impartation at Conference the weekend following.
Conference is called “Impacting the Nations”. This is no exaggeration. It was an impacting time, a sobering time, time to take the call of God seriously and time to go to a new level in our walk and ministries.
Celebration Church Nelson is committed to rising to the challenge. There is no other option, there is a world crying out for direction, only God’s kingdom can provide.

A blog is slightly different to a webpage. It is an online diary but it is also interactive. That’s why we like it – it has a “live” feeling and we can connect with our local community online.
What’s with the war themed header? Actually Gamers will realise it resembles the popular game “Modern Warfare 2″. We picked this because Celebration Centre churches are well aware we are engaged in warfare – a war is on and as a church – we are engaged! See Ephesians 6 , in fact read the whole bible and you will see we are executing a battle which Jesus won on the cross over 2,000 years ago.
We think the battle for souls, for family, for relationships, for breakthrough is a fight worth fighting. Satanic forces are wreaking havoc in marriages, in family breakdown, in depression (especially in our nation) and breakdown of hope. We have an inheritance in Christ Jesus, but we have to fight for our inheritance! Being a part of His Body is not only His mandate, it is a place of strength, healing and encouragement.
We are not only engaged in warfare but the full 5 “W’s”. – Word/Worship/Warfare/Works/Wealth. The heart of our church is discipleship through cell ministry because all of God’s people are called to minister – Ephesians 4.
We are a vibrant church family growing in the heart of Nelson.
Each week’s preaching will be available via the blog.
We will develop profiles of people in the church and how Jesus has transformed their lives.
We will document different events using video and photos etc.
So things should get more exciting as we develop and get savvy at blogging.
